LAKE CHARLES, La. —L’Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino,a $370 million Texas Hill Country-themed resort in Lake Charles, La., will play host to the sounds of country superstar Wynonna. Party by the Pool wraps up for the season with a blowout Miss Louisiana Hawaiian Tropic State Finals event.
After a successful career as one-half of The Judds, Wynonna launched a hugely successful solo career in 1992. Her first solo album sold five million copies and spawned three number one hits including No One Else On Earth, She Is His Only Need and I Saw The Light. A string of successful hits and albums have followed, including her hit duet with Clint Black; A Bad Goodbye.
Wynonna will perform in the L’Auberge Event Center on Thursday, August 16 and Friday, August 17 at 8:30 p.m.; doors open one hour before the show. Tickets go on sale in August for the return of a L’Auberge favorite. Bill Cosby brings his unique brand of comedy to the Event Center stage at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Friday, September 28; tickets go on sale Friday, August 17.

The local’s favorite Party by the Pool wraps up for the season with an August 2 performance by Bag of Donuts. Party by the Pool features beer and drink specials served by the Ladies of L’Auberge.Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with live entertainment scheduled to begin each Thursday at 7:00 p.m.; Party by the Pool ends at 10:00 p.m.
Ladies get free admission to Party by the Pool. Gentlemen pay just $5; the cover charge is waived for L’Club members. Must be 21 to enter. Join us poolside on Saturday, August 11 from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. for the 2007 Miss Louisiana Hawaiian Tropic State Finals. Contestants from around Louisiana will compete in the state finals for an all expense paid trip to the national competition in Hawaii and a chance to win more than one million dollars in cash, prizes and modeling contracts.
The 2007 Miss Louisiana Hawaiian Tropic State Finals feature local celebrity and VIP judges. Plus, New Orleans’ favorite band Molly Ringwalds will perform their high energy 80’s rock show live poolside for the August 11 finals. The night includes drink specials and giveaways.
Before the final competition, meet all of the state finalists at a special Hawaiian Tropic Meet & Greet. The reception will be held at the hip globar in the center of the L’Auberge Casino on Friday, August 10 from 9:00 – 11:00 p.m.; the winner and all of the finalists will be on hand to mingle with guests, take pictures and sign autographs.
