L’Auberge du Lac Named ‘The Best’ by The Times of Southwest Louisiana

LAKE CHARLES, La. — L’Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino, a $370 million Texas Hill Country-themed resort in Lake Charles, La. is once again garnering top honors from guests for its wide array of amenities, especially its non-stop Vegas style gaming and quality food and beverage offerings. 

The Times of Southwest Louisiana recently honored L’Auberge in five top categories during The Original Best of Southwest Louisiana Reader’s Poll 2007.  The winners are chosen each year by the magazine’s readers, who vote for their favorite restaurants, bars and other local businesses online. 

The resort casino took top honors in the following categories: Best Casino; Best Place to Gamble; Best Bar Overall for Jack Daniel’s® Bar & Grill; Best Beer Variety for Jack Daniel’s® Bar & Grill; Best Live Music for Jack Daniel’s® Bar & Grill; and Best Kept Secret Eatery for Asia™.  

Using the famed Tennessee sippin’ whiskey as inspiration, Jack Daniel’s® Bar & Grill offers seating for 165, along with a 26-seat curved bar, fire pit and a performance stage featuring live entertainment every Thursday through Saturday night.  It also features over 40 beers from around the world and a delicious menu of burgers, steaks, barbeque and other roadhouse favorites. Jack Daniel’s® Bar & Grill is open daily from 5 p.m. to close; the outlet reopens for lunch in late October.

Asia™, a contemporary restaurant featuring Asian-fusion cuisine, is operated by Tri La, owner of the nationally acclaimed Kim Son Restaurants in Houston. This intimate venue concentrates on traditional Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine and is perennially voted “Best Vietnamese Restaurant” in Houston by the Houston Press. Kim Son has garnered critical acclaim from some of the country’s top restaurant critics, including writers from Bon Appetit, Esquire and Food & Wine magazines.   

Asia™ is an intimate venue with seating for 36.  It’s a great place for a quick snack or fast bowl of traditional Vietnamese soup.  The restaurant also offers a to-go menu.  Asia™ is open from 4 p.m. – 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday; 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Friday; noon to 4 a.m. Saturday; and noon to 4 a.m. Sunday.

The L’Auberge casino features 30,000 square feet of endless Vegas-style play. The Texas-Hill Country-themed casino features 62 table games and more than 1,600 of the newest slot machines, equipped with the latest ticket-in, ticket-out technology.
