LAKE CHARLES, La. — L’Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino, a $370 million Texas Hill Country-themed resort in Lake Charles, La., announces the return of Merle Haggard on June 28 – 29 in the L’Auberge Event Center. Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton will perform his legendary act on July 26 – 27. High energy bands perform at Party by the Pool every Thursday night in June and July. Plus, tickets go on sale in July for country superstar Wynonna; scheduled to perform on August 16 – 17.
Merle Haggard is best known for his unusual style combining country music and jazz into songs that celebrate the working class. His musical career began when he entered a talent contest at age 15. While serving a 3-year prison term for burglary at San Quentin Penitentiary, Haggard played guitar and sang in a prison band. After his release and full pardon, he decided to pursue a career in music.
Haggard first scored a top ten hit on Billboard’s music charts in 1965 with My Friend’s Are Gonna Be Strangers. Other chart toppers include Today I Started Loving Her Again, Workin’ Man Blues and the Grammy-winning That’s The Way Love Goes. In 1994, Haggard was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Merle Haggard will perform in the Event Center on Thursday, June 28 and Friday, June 29 at 8:30 p.m.; doors open one hour before the show. Tickets are priced at $45 for stadium seating ($10 discount to L’Club members). Tickets are on sale now.
A legendary piece of Las Vegas comes to Lake Charles when Wayne Newton takes the stage at L’Auberge for the first time. Newton has epitomized the talent, glamour and energy that is Las Vegas for so long that he is affectionately called Mr. Las Vegas. He has performed live to more than 30-million people in addition to numerous television appearances and recorded albums. Additionally, he has conducted four international tours for the USO this year alone, lifting the spirits of the US Armed Forces.
Wayne Newton will perform in the Event Center on Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27 at 8:30 p.m.; doors open one hour before the show. Tickets are priced at $50 for stadium seating ($10 discount to L’Club members). Tickets go on sale Friday, June 15.
July is also your opportunity to grab tickets for an exciting upcoming performance by country superstar Wynonna. Wynonna will perform in the Event Center on Thursday, August 16 and Friday, August 17 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at $70 for stadium seating ($10 discount to L’Club members). Tickets go on sale Friday, July 6.

The local’s favorite Party by the Pool continues with poolside concerts in June and July. Party by the Pool also features beer and drink specials served by the Ladies of L’Auberge. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with live entertainment scheduled to begin each Thursday at 7:00 p.m.; Party by the Pool ends at 10:00 p.m.
